HOW TO JOIN

Looking to pick up a thrilling sport that combines strategy, skill, and agility? Lassiter's Fencing Team is for you! Here's everything you need to know about becoming part of the team.

​

  • When should you join? The start of the school year is best, but new members are welcome anytime.

  • Not sure yet? Come to a few practices to see if fencing is your thing before committing.

Eligibility:

​​

In order to participate in fencing at Lassiter each season, students must:

​

  1. Academic Eligibility: Just like any other sanctioned sport, you must meet Lassiter's academic standards to participate.

  2. Paperwork and Physical: Before hitting the piste, you'll need to:

​

 

Practices:
​
  • Where? In the school cafeteria.

  • When? Wednesdays, 3:30 to 5:30 PM, starting August 16th until February break.

  • Note: Cleanup takes a few minutes, so plan on being picked up shortly after 5:30.

​

​

Tournaments:
​
  • Georgia High School Fencing League (GHSFL) tournaments once or twice a month (September through February).

  • Tournaments are on Saturdays from early morning to late afternoon.

  • Want to aim higher? Consider USA Fencing tournaments in the Atlanta area or even regional and national ones as you advance!

Home and Additional Practice:
​
  • Keep sharpening your skills at home.

  • Interested in more? Consider joining a private club for extra practice and guidance.

​

​

Club Dues:
​
  • The due for the 2023-2024 school year the dues are $365.

    • The fee Includes our annual registration and insurance fees, tournaments, coaching, referees, and the banquet.

  • Payments must be made by September 1st.

​

​

Personal Equipment:
​
  • You'll need your gear (around $275 - $295 for new items).

  • Want to save? Consider buying used equipment for about half the price!

​
