Here's everything you need to know about becoming part of the team.

When should you join?
The start of the school year is best, but new members are welcome anytime. Orientation on August 13
is a great time to come ask questions!

Not sure what to expect?
Come to a few practices Wednesdays after school to see if fencing is your thing before committing.

Eligibility
​​In order to participate in fencing at Lassiter each season, students must complete:
​
Academic Eligibility: Just like sanctioned sports, you must meet Lassiter's academic standards to participate.
​
Paperwork and Physical:

Complete the Lassiter Fencing Club paperwork, including a physical examination form.

Get your physical done by a family physician, pharmacy clinic, or urgent care facility.

Practice​
Where: Lassiter Cafeteria
When: Wednesdays, 3:30 to 5:30 PM, starting mid August until February break.
Cleanup takes a few minutes, so plan on being picked up shortly after 5:30.

Tournaments

Georgia High School Fencing League (GHSFL) tournaments once or twice a month (September through February).

Tournaments are on Saturdays from early morning to late afternoon.

Want to aim higher? Consider USA Fencing tournaments in the Atlanta area or even regional and national ones as you advance!

Home and Additional Practice​

Keep sharpening your skills at home.

Consider joining a private club for extra practice and guidance.
​
​
Club Dues​
-
The due for the 2025-2026 school year the dues are $375.

The fee includes our annual registration and insurance fees, tournaments, coaching, referees, and the banquet.

Payments must be made by September 1st.

​
Personal Equipment​

You'll need your gear (around $275 - $295 for new items).

Consider buying used equipment for about half the price!
